Technical Stuff

I’m not gonna bore you with all of the technical builders jargon, but i will just tell you about the stuff you need to:
For the majority of loft conversions no planning permission is required and they can be built on whats called permitted developments which is basically a law that allows you to extend your house, a semi detached or detached house can extend by 70cubic meters and a terrace by 50, this is the case with majority of conversions, therefore all that is required is a set of plans complying with building regulations to be submitted to local authority which we can take care of if need be.

Although in most cases planning permission is not required, in some cases it is reasons for this are:

  • living in a conservation area,
  • already having exceeded your permitted developments,
  • extending higher than current highest point of house or extending out wider than existing property.

If any of these cases apply to you or your not quite sure whether they do or not then don’t hesitate to contact us and we will help and advise on what best to do.

Part schemes

We also offer part conversion schemes which could help for various reasons:

Not possible to finance complete conversion?
If you have a member of the family or friend or just someone whos done work for you before who is in a trade and you would like them to be part of the project then we have no problem working alongside them as long as they have the right qualifications

You would like us just to do the structural side of the job?
We can divise a part scheme that would suit you perfectly.
